Moisture Extreme - 835 Papaya Milk

author Jasmine Kelly Six

brand Maybelline

rating 4.5/5

Pros:
A miracle tube of velvety glamour that not only feels sexy but keeps my lips looking succulent and totally hydrated!

Cons:
This dramatic hue adds a good few years to my actual age; not exactly what I would like to do.

Bottom Line:
We all know Red is tricky to apply, but I got away perfect without the help of a lip brush. Thanks to its soft, creamy texture and smooth, easy-on application, my lips look ultra luscious and plump in a matter of seconds! This rich, juicy, yummilicious red tone boasts extremely lasting results that does not bleed while concealing dry lips like a pro! It stayed, to my amazement, throughout dinner and didn’t kiss off!

High Gloss Ultra Brilliance - 08 Coral

author Jasmine Kelly Six

brand Estée Lauder

rating 5/5

Pros:
Plumps lips effortlessly without the traditional sticky feel. Flat to fab in 3 seconds!

Cons: What is there not to like about this? Maybe they should come in twice their length.

Bottom Line:

I had EVERYTHING to love about this super-shine lip gloss. First things first, its delicious cotton candy scent makes it too tempting to eat. The fuss-free squeeze-tube design makes it so easy to apply. Smooth and light, the colour looked really nude against my lips, exactly the way I like them to look. The texture is really light so my lips do not feel like they are coated in goo. Ultra watery with a pretty hint of shimmer, it concealed my dry lips extremely well and made it instantly kissable!

Eyecolour Fusion - Green 02 A

author Jasmine Kelly Six

brand The Body Shop

rating 2/5

Pros:
If you’re feeling adventurous, the moss-like pearly shimmer looks best with contrasting orange, yellow and pink hues.

Cons:
Dusting your entire eye socket with this colour makes it look like you got punched.

Bottom Line:
I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this pretty palette! (Or rather, get its colours on my eyes. LOL) An innovative mosaic design of shimmering shades, this eye colour cake is a refreshingly vibrant fusion of emerald, lime and olive green. Perhaps the build-up of my excitement caused an even greater disappointment; this green did not turn out as expected. Its underlying grey tones looked dull and ‘zombiefying’ when translated onto my skin. Probably the only way to salvage this would be to limit application strictly to the lash line and then highlight brow bone area with something bright and cheery.

Protector Skin Tuner

author Jasmine Kelly Six

brand íPSA

rating 3.5/5

Pros:
A much better, albeit more expensive, alternative to EVIAN or AVENE facial mist.

Cons:
The ‘cooling’ sensation was grossly short-lived and didn’t last as long as I would have liked.

Bottom Line:

The perfect ‘wake-me-up’ in the morning! Refreshing with a hint of powdery musk, this convenient spray-on mist acts as a good base for pre-makeup application, helping it adhere better to my skin, for longer-lasting results. Its moisture retention properties also offer good hydration throughout the day in a dry office environment. My skin feels dewy, supple and happy!

Artist’s Brow Pencil Double Groomer - ABDG 03 Black Brown

author Jasmine Kelly Six

brand Estée Lauder

rating 3/5

REVIEW

Pros:
If you have sparse areas or an accidental ‘over-tweeze’, its smooth creamy crayon texture allows you to fill them up naturally, with little effort.

Cons:
To refrain from looking like a ‘80s model gone wrong’, trim down dense brows so colour won’t look too dark.

Bottom Line:
A duo blend of efficiency: part pencil, part grooming brush. Encased in a slim body is a seemingly never-ending supply of pigment, which resurfaces effortlessly with a simple twist, though the downside is that it may be a little difficult to handle. While I could not be more satisfied with the handy brush, the ‘one-way’ twisting motion did not allow me to twist whatever remaining pigment back into the case, making it a mess when I had to put the cover back on.
